Million Women March: A Stand Against Child Abuse
On February 17th, 2025, women across the UK come together for the Million Women March, a powerful demonstration aimed at raising awareness and demanding action against child abuse
This peaceful march, is being held in various cities including Manchester, and Liverpool, with women and girls from all backgrounds uniting with a shared goal: to protect children and ensure their safety.
The march will begin at iconic locations such St Peter's Square in Manchester and participants will carry signs with messages like "Protect Our Children" and "End Child Abuse Now," chanting and singing as they make their way through the streets. The rallies will feature heartfelt speeches, spoken word performances, and songs, all aimed at highlighting the urgent need for change.
One of the key demands of the march is for urgent changes in the law to ensure tougher sentencing for crimes against children. Participants will also call for real accountability from institutions and politicians who have repeatedly failed to protect children, as well as better support for victims and their families. The movement emphasises the need for a cultural shift to end victim-blaming and to give children a voice, ensuring they are heard and respected.
The Million Women March is more than just a protest; it's a call to action for society to address the pervasive issue of child abuse. It serves as a reminder that children deserve to grow up in a safe and nurturing environment, free from fear and harm.
I for one will be supporting them and sk should every parent in this country.
As the march continues to grow each year, it stands as a testament to the power of unity and the collective hope for a safer future for all children. The message is clear: child abuse must end, and it must end now.
