This falls under Chinese law where the age of consent is 12. The UK is 16 so to get any conviction it has to be the people selling and proving age of the children and map the sale. 

TikTok, is a short video platform owned by Chinese company ByteDance, was launched in 2016 as an international version of its Chinese app, Douyin. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Beijing, ByteDance has a diverse ownership structure, with most shares held by international investors, founders, and employees.

The platform has faced scrutiny over data privacy and national security due to its ties to China. In response, ByteDance has ensured that U.S. user data is stored domestically and emphasised its operational independence.

ByteDance, established by Zhang Yiming and Liang Rubo, has attracted investments from major venture capital firms like Sequoia Capital, General Atlantic, and SoftBank, which hold minority stakes and support its growth.

Zhang Yiming founded ByteDance in 2012, launching Toutiao and Douyin. As of October 2024, he is among the world's wealthiest individuals, according to Forbes and Bloomberg. He stepped down as CEO on November 4, 2021, but retains over 50% of ByteDance's voting rights. The rapid global growth of TikTok has made him the richest person in China in 2024. A private venture capital firm in Menlo Park, California, Sequoia Capital operates as a partnership with regional branches in China and India. It is known for investing in major tech companies like Apple, ByteDance, and Cisco.

General Atlantic

Based in New York City and established in 1980, General Atlantic is a private equity firm that provides growth capital to businesses in sectors such as technology, healthcare, and financial services.

SoftBank

A publicly traded conglomerate in Tokyo, Japan, SoftBank Group was founded by CEO Masayoshi Son, who holds about 29% ownership. The company is recognised for its Vision Fund, which invests in global technology firms.

Children are being trafficked through companies that openly advertise on TikTok, and despite notifying TikTok about this egregious issue, they have failed to take action to halt this abhorrent trade. It is imperative for anyone who comes across this information while using the app to take steps toward fostering positive change. This concern was raised by a follower regarding a specific account, and upon further examination, I found that numerous similar accounts exist on the platform, targeting individuals who may be potential buyers. They use a communication tool called Teleguard to facilitate the sale of children of various ethnicities and ages to different locations around the globe.

I have collected evidence related to one particularly disturbing case that I cannot share publicly due to its graphic nature. This evidence has been submitted to the authorities to bring attention to the alarming activities that TikTok is permitting. Children are being sold directly to buyers through this network. If you are a parent, grandparent, aunt, or uncle, please take the time to review your children's phones to ensure they are not following these accounts and becoming ensnared in this horrific cycle of child trafficking.
