Keir Starmer's Broken Manifesto Promises: A Closer Look

Keir Starmer, has faced significant criticism for failing to deliver on several key promises made during his leadership campaign and subsequent elections. As we reflect on his tenure, it's essential to examine some of the most notable broken promises and their implications for the public and the political landscape.

Key Broken Promises

  1. Tuition Fees: One of the most significant promises was the abolition of tuition fees. Starmer initially pledged to scrap tuition fees, a policy that resonated with many young voters. However, this promise was later abandoned, leaving students and their families scratching their heads in disbelief.

  2. Nationalisation of Public Services: Starmer's leadership campaign included a commitment to nationalise key public services, such as rail, mail, and energy. Despite the initial enthusiasm, these plans were scaled back, with the Labour Party opting for a more moderate approach. In other words he exaggerated which seems to be normal for Pinocchio's brother.

  3. Support for WASPI Women: The Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) campaign received strong backing from Starmer and his allies during the election. They promised to deliver "fair and fast" compensation to women affected by changes to the state pension age. However, this promise was not fulfilled, leading widespread   anger among the affected women and again it was only used to get votes on the basis of  complete lie.

  4. Winter Fuel Payments: Another broken promise was the commitment to maintain winter fuel payments for pensioners. The Labour Party's decision to strip up to 10 million pensioners of this lifeline has sparked outrage and concern, particularly among vulnerable elderly population.

  5. Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG): Starmer's manifesto included a pledge to halve violence against women and girls within a decade. Despite the ambitious promise, the necessary government effort and support for third-sector organizations have not materialised, leaving many victims without adequate support.

Implications and Public Reaction

The failure to deliver on these promises has had significant implications for Starmer's credibility and the Labour Party's reputation. Many voters feel betrayed and disillusioned, questioning the party's commitment to its pledges. The broken promises have also fuelled political opponents' criticisms, further complicating Labour's efforts to regain public trust.

Conclusion

Keir Starmer's tenure as Labour leader has been marked by high-profile broken promises. When i hear his voice he makes my skin crawl and i reach for the off button as everything he says appears to be a lie and that's how he kept his mistress from his wife but like all liars he gets found out and he has.
